Ready to enjoy a cleaner, calmer home?

What Is Included in a Domestic Clean?

Most domestic cleaning visits focus on maintaining cleanliness across the rooms used most frequently in your home.

Your cleaner will usually prioritise areas such as:

  • Kitchens
    • Bathrooms
    • Bedrooms
    • Living areas and hallways

During each visit, tasks may rotate depending on your preferences and the time available. This ensures your entire home remains well-maintained over time.

The sections below explain what is typically cleaned in each part of the home.

The kitchen is often the busiest room in the house, which means it requires regular attention to stay hygienic and organised.

During a typical kitchen clean, your cleaner will focus on high-use surfaces and everyday tasks that keep the room fresh and safe for food preparation.

Typical Kitchen Cleaning Tasks

  • Wiping kitchen worktops and surfaces
  • Cleaning sinks and taps
  • Wiping hob surfaces
  • Cleaning cupboard fronts
  • Wiping small appliances such as kettles or toasters
  • Vacuuming and mopping the floor
  • Emptying bins if required

Regular kitchen cleaning helps prevent the buildup of grease, crumbs, and bacteria.

Bedroom Cleaning

Bedrooms are spaces designed for rest and comfort. Keeping them clean can improve air quality and reduce dust buildup.

Regular cleaning of bedrooms helps maintain a calm environment that supports better sleep and overall wellbeing.

Typical Bedroom Cleaning Tasks

  • Dusting surfaces and furniture
  • Cleaning bedside tables and accessible surfaces
  • Vacuuming carpets or rugs
  • Emptying bedroom bins
  • Wiping mirrors or glass surfaces
  • Tidying visible clutter where appropriate

For many households in Wokingham, bedrooms may be cleaned on a rotating schedule if some rooms are used less frequently.

This flexible approach allows your cleaner to focus on the rooms that matter most during each visit.

Bathroom Cleaning

Bathrooms require regular cleaning to maintain hygiene and prevent limescale or soap residue from building up.

During a standard cleaning visit, your cleaner will focus on sanitising the key areas used daily.

Typical Bathroom Cleaning Tasks

  • Cleaning sinks and taps
  • Cleaning toilets
  • Wiping bathroom surfaces
  • Cleaning showers and baths
  • Polishing mirrors
  • Vacuuming or mopping bathroom floors

Routine bathroom cleaning helps maintain hygiene and reduces the risk of mould and bacteria forming in damp environments.

Living Areas and Shared Spaces

Living rooms, dining areas, hallways, and staircases are some of the most frequently used parts of the home.

These spaces can quickly collect dust and debris from daily activity, especially in busy family households.

Regular cleaning helps keep these areas welcoming and comfortable.

Typical Living Area Cleaning Tasks

  • Dusting surfaces and furniture
    • Vacuuming carpets and rugs
    • Cleaning coffee tables and side tables
    • Wiping skirting boards where needed
    • Cleaning mirrors and glass surfaces
    • Tidying high traffic areas

These tasks help keep shared spaces tidy while maintaining the overall cleanliness of the home.

A Cleaning Service That Adapts to Your Home

No two homes are the same, which is why Cleanhome Wokingham takes a personalised approach to cleaning.

Before your regular cleaning begins, we arrange a home visit to discuss:

  • Your priorities and expectations
    • Which rooms need the most attention
    • Cleaning frequency and schedule
    • Your preferred cleaning products

This ensures your cleaner understands how you like your home maintained.

Our goal is to provide a consistent and dependable cleaning routine that makes everyday life easier.

Why Consistent Cleaning Makes a Difference

Many homeowners find that regular cleaning provides more than just a tidy home.

It can also help with:

  • • Reducing dust and allergens
    • Maintaining hygiene in busy households
    • Keeping kitchens and bathrooms sanitary
    • Preventing dirt from building up over time
    • Creating a calmer living environment

For families balancing work, commuting, and school routines, having a reliable cleaner can free up valuable time each week.

Trusted Domestic Cleaners in Wokingham

Trust is one of the most important factors when choosing a cleaning service.

At Cleanhome Wokingham, every cleaner goes through a thorough vetting process before working with clients.

Our screening process includes:

  • •Telephone interview
    • Face-to-face meeting
    • ID verification and right to work checks
    • Two reference checks

Only a small proportion of applicants are accepted, ensuring that our clients receive a reliable and trustworthy service.

Many of our clients value the consistency of having the same cleaner for every visit, which helps build familiarity and trust over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most regular cleaning visits include dusting, vacuuming, kitchen cleaning, bathroom cleaning, and general tidying. Tasks may rotate between rooms depending on your preferences and the time available.

Clients typically provide their own cleaning products and equipment. This ensures your cleaner uses products you prefer and avoids cross-contamination between homes.

Wherever possible, the same cleaner is assigned to your home each week or fortnight. This helps build trust and ensures your cleaner becomes familiar with your home.

Cleaning visits normally last at least two hours, depending on the size of the property and the number of rooms being cleaned.

Bespoke Service

We are not happy until you are! Your cleaner will usually tailor their services to fit exactly with your requirements, including spring cleaning and ironing.

Peace of Mind

Only 1 in 50 applicants makes it on to our carefully screened database. We interview them twice, visit them in their own homes and take up at least two references. And if they still subsequently don't measure up to your standards, we will send you someone who does.

Personal Cleaner

We don't operate in teams, and therefore you get the same cleaner every week. This is good because you develop a relationship with your cleaner. We have some clients who have had the same cleaner for years and years - and that's what we want for you.

COVID-19 5th January Update

Just to let you know we are open for business as usual and you can continue to have your cleaner clean your house.

The government has made it clear that cleaners are still permitted to work inside peoples' homes as long as Government Guidelines on social distancing and staying safe are followed (see below). In summary:

You can be outside of your home for work purposes where your place of work remains open and where you cannot work from home, including if your job involves working in other people's homes.

The full text can be found here New National Restrictions from 5 January (in England; there are similar texts available for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). Specifically relating to cleaners, the guidance continues: 'This guidance applies to those working in, visiting or delivering to home environments. These include, but are not limited to, people working in the following areas:

  • 'This can include work in other people's homes where necessary - for example, for nannies, cleaners, social care workers providing support to children and families, or tradespeople (this is not an exhaustive list)'

Note this guidance is for people who are fit and well, and is dependent on the following social distancing guidelines being followed:

  • No work should be carried out in a household where people are isolating or where an individual is being shielded.
  • The cleaners can continue work, providing that they are well and have no symptoms. No work should be carried out by a cleaner who has coronavirus symptoms, however mild, or when someone in their own household has symptoms.
  • No work should be carried out in a household where any occupants are clinically extremely vulnerable to coronavirus, or households with a possible or confirmed case of coronavirus.
  • Whilst in the house. a cleaner should maintain a safe distance of at least two metres from any household occupant at all times, and ensure good ventilation in the area where they are working, including opening the window.
  • Upon entering the home, cleaners should wash their hands using soap and water for 20 seconds.
  • Cleaners should wash their hands regularly, particularly after blowing their nose, sneezing or coughing, and when leaving the property.

The good news with regard to cleaning is that the cleaners can social distance from their clients very easily, and we would advise that, if you are at home when they are there, that you remain in a separate room to your cleaner.

If you are happy to adhere to the government guidelines - and if your cleaner has not been in touch already - then please just call the office and we will ensure that your cleaning continues.

Best regards

The Cleanhome Team
